Republicans have spent the last week so frantically delivering their talking points that you'd think that it was still election season.
They're desperate to convince pundits, reporters and the public that the 2006 elections are anything but what they were: a complete rejection of the Republican ideology, incompetence and corruption.
Americans asked for change in the Congress and in state capitals across the country, and sent a crystal clear message about what kind of change they wanted: every single incumbent Democrat running for the House, the Senate or Governor was re-elected, and we made historic gains everywhere.
All of this happened by trying something new. After years of running the same kinds of campaign, our 50-state strategy helped expand the playing field and provide the foundation for victories up and down the ballot.
Now we'll be moving quickly onto another chapter of new tactics. That's why I'm writing you today.
For the first time in decades, we're keeping our operation alive after the election. Our successful 50-State Turnout staff and volunteer networks will be put right back to work building the party in preparation for 2008 and beyond.
What's your role in this?
Now is the time for you to create your PartyBuilder account and cement the connections you've made in this election season.
PartyBuilder is a suite of online tools that put you in the driver's seat. You can create your own events, write your own blog, create and lead your own group (or join someone else's), and much more. But most importantly you can create and sustain connection with people in your area -- capturing the work of this election and laying the groundwork for elections to come.
Will you set up your profile and make some PartyBuilder connections?

We just proved that by organizing early and building from the ground up, Democrats can win elections -- and win decisively.
If we're going to win in 2008 we've got to start now. We need to support the new Democratic majority in Congress by organizing everywhere, and in doing so we will be laying the groundwork for the presidential race.
If we get to work now, we will repeat our success -- expanding the playing field and keeping the Republicans back on their heels, scrambling to keep up.
Right now we have the opportunity to show people what amazing things can happen when the party in power is beholden to no one but the people.
It's going to be a great time, and I hope you'll join in.
